Ian has been a director of IMS since early 2007 and took full control at the end of 2015. He has spent a lifetime in freight forwarding and believes IMS provide a service its’ customers value. He says, “ Customers want to discuss problems and take advice from someone they know they can trust and speak to again the next time they call, they want the dialogue to be a continuation of their last conversation & not a repeat of it. They want to be confident their custom is valued and advice given, reliable”. A growing dependence on systems is driving more people and skills out of the sector, in both service provision and regulation. “Our job is to give clients the benefit of our experience and expertise, and help them achieve their ambitions in international trade”.
When she parted company with Peters & May at the beginning of 2007, she had at 22 years been their longest serving employee. She gained useful experience working in all departments, developing particular skills with complex export documentary processes including Letters of Credit, C.A.P, Customs Controls & Food Health Certification. Sally has a calm and measured, common sense approach to work and her advice and guidance has been a great asset to many exporters helping them avoid the pitfalls often associated with export processes.
Tony spent nearly 20 years with Frans Maas and has consequently an enviable knowledge of European Road freight business. Enthusiastic and adaptable, he’s worked in all departments here and is currently responsible for our air and road freight operations. He is well considered by clients for his good natured enthusiasm, and his ability to find solutions in difficult circumstances. Tony holds a current Certification for The Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air.
Nathalie is our latest addition, joining the company on 2nd January this year. Her early career was spent with forwarders in Finland culminating with 14 years representing and then working for the German beverage specialist J. F. Hillebrand. She comes to IMS after six years with consolidator ECU Line, working in the export section of their Mediterranean division. Fluent in Finnish & French with some basic Spanish, she joins our seafreight department to provide additional support for this growing aspect of our business.
Amy joined the company in 2014 as a trainee in our courier department. Fast learning and efficient, her quiet and unflappable approach has helped her develop a high reputation with both clients and colleagues. Amy’s wish is to improve and develop her knowledge of our industry and in conjunction with the training she receives in house, has recently passed with distinction our trade associations’ BTEC Intermediate Award in Multimodal International Freight Procedures.
